:  temporary small white cysts that occur along the midline of the hard palate of many newborn infants

Biographical Note for EPSTEIN'S PEARLS

Epstein, Alois (1849–1918), Czech pediatrician. An authority on children's diseases, Epstein was director of the Children's Clinic and professor of pediatrics at Prague. He made numerous references to what are now known as Epstein's pearls in various clinical papers dealing with newborns and infants.
